Eisco is proud to announce that we are now ISO 14001 certified. This internationally recognized standard for Environmental Management Systems marks a significant step in our sustainability journey. It provides a clear and structured approach to managing environmental impact, covering areas such as energy and water usage, emissions, waste, resource efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
For our customers and distributors, this certification reinforces that every Eisco product is manufactured within a framework that prioritizes responsible operations.
Understanding ISO 14001 and Its Importance
ISO 14001 establishes a system for identifying environmental impacts, setting measurable objectives, implementing controls, and evaluating progress through ongoing review. It strengthens key operational areas—from energy and resource efficiency to waste reduction, emissions control, regulatory compliance, and a disciplined cycle of continuous improvement.
With this certification in place, customers can trust that sourcing from Eisco supports broader sustainability.
Why Eisco Pursued ISO 14001 Certification
Environmental responsibility has been part of Eisco’s culture for years. In 2017, we installed solar panels in our headquarters that now produce a significant amount of the energy we use. Packaging has been redesigned to reduce plastic. Warehouses and production areas actively incorporate recyclable materials wherever possible. Carpooling, rainwater harvesting, and community-focused initiatives like student science camps and green-zone development reflect our long-standing commitment.
ISO 14001 formalizes these efforts, providing a framework to measure, track, and improve environmental performance consistently.
Steps Taken to Achieve Certification
ISO 14001 certification required a structured approach, combining operational changes, monitoring, and employee engagement:
Developing the Environmental Policy
We created an environmental policy outlining our commitment to reducing environmental impact, meeting regulatory requirements, and improving performance. Employees across departments are trained to integrate these principles into daily work.
Identifying Environmental Aspects and Impacts
To ensure objectivity, Eisco commissioned third-party testing laboratories approved by NABL (Indian testing accreditation body) to assess key environmental parameters.
Air quality parameters (PM10, PM2.5, SO₂, CO, NO₂) were comfortably below standard limits, some even below detection limits.
DG emissions for particulate matter, hydrocarbons, and nitrogen oxides performed significantly under CPCB limits.
Water quality, including hardness, dissolved solids, fluoride and nitrates, remained within permissible limits with many parameters below detection thresholds.
Noise and waste oil quality met all applicable standards.
This independent validation gave us strong, data-based confirmation that our environmental controls were functioning reliably and effectively.
Setting Environmental Objectives and Measuring Progress
Based on these findings, we established measurable objectives for 2025–26. Performance between April and August 2025 demonstrated strong results. Electricity usage remained below targets. Solar power continued contributing significantly although below our target. Water consumption was well managed through conservation and harvesting systems. Plastic and wooden waste remained far below projected volumes (18kg/month and 222.4 kg/month). Material recovery processes achieved full compliance for Return Goods Process (RGP) material return and scrap disposal.
Monitoring and Evaluation
Ongoing monitoring ensures the system remains effective. Internal audits, routine performance reviews, and management oversight help identify opportunities for improvement. Data analysis has led to measurable reductions in resource use, waste, and emissions.
Certification Audit
An accredited ISO auditor conducted a full assessment of our systems, documentation, test results, and compliance processes. Their verification confirmed that Eisco meets the ISO 14001 standard across operations.
